NEW CLAIM PURCHASED
CENTRAL OREGON PROSPECTORS ASSOCIATION MEMBERS
On July 8th, the COPA Claim Administrator, Chris Bedsaul, was determined to be the successful high bidder on an Ebay mining claim auction for an existing 160-acre placer claim on the famous Burnt River in NE Oregon.
The existing "Pot O’ Gold" placer claim has approximately 2,640 feet (1/2 mile) of Burnt River bed to explore. The claim is located in the SE¼, Section 28, T11S, R42E, W.M. This claim was previously known as "Burnt River #2" in 1992 and was originally located and owned by GPAA founder George "Buzzard", Wilma, Tom and Perry Massie.
The Burnt River canyon is well known for fine to nugget gold by panning, sluicing, dredging and high-banking.
The "Pot O’ Gold" claim is located approximately 2.5 miles downstream from the existing LDMA Burnt River claim and 6 miles south of Durkee and Interstate 84.
According to the Claim Administrator, the documentation for transfer of the "Pot O’ Gold" claim to the Central Oregon Prospectors Association will be completed soon. Once the final transfer of ownership is complete, COPA members will receive maps to show the location of the "Pot O’ Gold" claim, as well as, GPS coordinates to identify the west and east claim boundaries crossing the Burnt River Canyon road that runs through the claim.
